Visiting Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace

On behalf of Nixon family, Donald Nixon collected the calligraphy work by artist Mark Cheung

As 40th Anniversary of Sino-America diplomatic relationship establishment approaching, Ms. Christine Gong, Chairman of CCAIO, and Mr. Dundee Deng, VP of CCAIO, visited Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum accompanied by Mr. Donald Nixon on January 27th. They had an in-depth talk and review of the achievements of President Nixon during his administration as well as his contributions to the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and the United States. Mr. Nixon gave some insights into the past as if it was yesterday. During the visit, CCAIO sent a calligraphy work <涛来万马 云静一龙> by a famous Chinese artist, Mark Cheung, to Mr. Nixon. Further bring China and the United States closer together through sharing culture and art to promote peace and understandings.

On February 28, 1972, Nixon's visit to China eventually led to diplomatic relations between the two nations and is considered as one of the most significant events in the history of international diplomacy in the twentieth century. The two sides signed the Joint Communiqué on February 28 in Shanghai, successfully opening the door for the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States and changing the world as it is today. President Nixon was also affectionately known by the Chinese as "an old friend of the Chinese people."

Mr. Donald Nixon is the nephew of President Nixon, a former California parliament member as well as a main representative of the Nixon family. Due to family background, Donald has inherited the family's influential resources in many fields of national industries, such as the energy, environment, biomedicine, aeronautics and steel. He continuously devoting himself and his resources to better the world.

Mark Cheung is a talented contemporary Chinese art master. He is not only honored as "The Godfather" in the fashion design field in China, but also excel at Chinese ink painting, calligraphy, oil painting and sculpture. His ink paintings are unique, belonging to a school unto himself. He has inherited the understandings of ancient spirit of ink paintings, but also discovered new pahts in the artistic way, which is ahead of present popular ideas and images. Mr. Cheung's works are full of strong visual impacts and deep meanings.
