Another achievement for CCAIO: CIGIU’s been formally established

Under the global background of numerous major countries are seeking for new technology and the industrial upgrading, the graphene material application research has been promoted to the national strategic level. The European Union, United States, Britain, South Korea and Japan are increasing related research investments, while lots of big multinational firms are also accelerating development process on its business application. Going with the trend, China International Graphene Industry Union (CIGIU) held the ceremony and officially proclaimed its establishment on Sept.18th 2016 after more than a year‘s preparations.

Gu Xiulian, the tenth vice chairman of Standing Committee of the National People's Congress; Korn Dabbaransi, the former deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, president of Thai-Chinese Friendship Association and Co-chairman of CCAIO; Lin Zongtang, former minister of China Ministry of Aero-space Industry; Li Zhaoxing, president of China Public Diplomacy Association; Zhang Jing’an, the former Secretary-General of Ministry of Science and Technology and former president of Science and Technology Daily; Andre Geim, Nobel laureate and Professor of University of Manchester; etc. 18 leaders and honored guests witnessed the formally establishment of CIGIU together . 

The establishment of CIGIU stands for the establishment of international communication interactive platform of the complete resources, science and technology, enterprise, capital, talent, information, intellectual property rights, industrial promotion. It also has the most widely geographical coverage and the highest starting point in the international. The establishment signifies the alliance is going to fully promote the graphene’s industrialization development. As Korn Dabbaransi addressed in the seminar, this is an important time to realize that graphene is becoming the new material, and what’s more important, it makes all members of the alliance get together to promote the development. Korn Dabbaransi expected grapheme, as a more crucial role in the field of new energies and renewable energies, can really lead a new technological revolution in the near future.

About 200 guests from global grapheme technology fields, leading enterprises of grapheme applications attended the establishment ceremony of CIGIU, which included Gu Xiulian, the tenth Vice Chairman of Standing Committee of the National People's Congress; Korn Dabbaransi, the former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, President of Thai-Chinese Friendship Association and Co-chairman of CCAIO; Lin Zongtang, former Minister of China Ministry of Aero-space Industry; Li Zhaoxing, President of China Public Diplomacy Association; Zhang Jing’an, the former Secretary-General of Ministry of Science and Technology and former President of Science and Technology Daily; Andre Geim, Nobel laureate and Professor of University of Manchester; Gong Tingyu(Christine Gong), Co-chairman of CCAIO.

As the consultative institute of CIGIU, CCAIO takes advantages to help build the international communication and interaction platform in line with the international practice for CIGIU. Except for leading CIGIU members to visit Abu Dhabi of United Arab Emirates, CCAIO also sincerely invited Mr. Korn Dabbaransi, the former vice minister of Thailand, to be the Co-chairman of CIGIU, so that set up a grapheme technology communication channel for China and Thailand. In the future, CCAIO will keep promoting CIGIU to be the most high-level and sophisticated platform in authoritative academic exchanges and developed industry applications, launching advanced international cooperation, and building a most convenient commercial communication bridge.

Besides, 2016 International Grapheme Industry Senior Seminar (Beijing) was held during the ceremony as well.
